The Collection
These are plants I grow, observe and work to understand. This is a curated view of the collection, with cultivation stories and questions worth following.
Each accession has its own history. Original photographs are dated, source labels stay attached to the record, and unresolved identifications stay unresolved. A featured plant is not automatically available for sale.
Carnivorous plants
Dionaea cultivars are a long-term collection and propagation interest. Keeping a named clone's identity and source history intact matters. Seed-grown offspring are tracked separately; a familiar parent name does not make every seedling that cultivar.
Small plants, substantial questions
Two Nymphaea thermarum individuals are tracked separately through changes in their growing conditions. Their different histories make them an ongoing observation project rather than a simple test of one substrate.
Bulbs and geophytes
Siphonochilus aethiopicus is part of the work on seasonal growth, dormancy and emergence. The useful record includes the pots that emerge, those that remain dormant and those that fail.
Impatiens beyond the bedding plant
Impatiens auricoma and I. tuberosa are central to an intended interspecific cross. I. bicaudata and source-labeled I. usambarensis add to the wider collection and reproductive work. Planned combinations remain plans until the crosses and outcomes are documented.
Tropical accessions and Florida plant interests
The wider collection connects unusual tropicals, propagation work and an interest in Florida plants and habitats. This public selection leaves sensitive locations, private source details and protected collection material in the nursery records.
